Optimize a Webpage for Search Engines

There is one principle to be recognized for the optimization of a webpage – the relevance principle. It demands to keep a webpage relevant for the visitor. Or to formulate more precise: a webpage has to be regarded relevant for the surfer by the algorithm of a search engine. In this sense some fundamental rules have to be obtained.

8. Prepare a sitemap or let it be prepared by Google. If you are unsure how to establish this, refer to the webmaster tools of Google.

9. Content is king! The best recommendation is still to bring valuable content to your website that attracts surfers. This is highly regarded by the search engines.

10. When all this optimization is done, obtain links from catalogs, directories and other websites covering similar themes and issues.

The individual case of your special website might necessitate exceptions and particularities. To realize all recommendations could in some cases lead to a lower usability. Sometimes reputedly poor optimized websites rank high in the search engine results. What is the reason?

For a certain presence the simple one-dimensional cause and effect chain gives no satisfactory explanation. Your listing is also influenced by the activities of the competitors. Probably their optimization has gained efficiency. Another severe reason is introduced into the game by the search engine itself. They changed their computing and valuation algorithm. This leads to new rules and the betting game starts a new.

Keep the relevance principle in mid and build your website to meat the interests and desires of your customers.
